## Methodology

Every row is a verbatim sentence read from the named source's own page through our fetch service on the date shown, hash-pinned to the stored read (the sha of the page's visible text; the raw page is mirrored to R2). 2 of the 6 named sources that could be read published a usable figure; 4 published none and are recorded as not published, never filled in; 2 could not be read (blocked, dead or unreachable) and count nowhere. The headline figures (median, minimum, maximum, quartiles) are over ONE figure per source in USD (a source's median where its page yielded several accepted sentences), so N counts sources, never sentences; 22 candidate sentence(s) were refused by a reviewer with the reason recorded. The fuller derivation this dataset is chartered to grow into (not yet what the figures above are; they are each source's own published figure as read): the ONS ASHE distribution - median and quartile hourly pay per four-digit occupation, and the same crossed with region - converted to a day rate on a stated hours assumption, one row per trade per region per vintage. The derivation is the two things ASHE does not give and no trade site publishes honestly: the EMPLOYEE-to-CONTRACTOR bridge (the day rate a self-employed tradesperson must charge to match an employed median once employer National Insurance, holiday, pension and utilisation are added back, computed from the rate table above), and the regional spread as a ratio to the national median, so 'electrician day rate' answers with a number, a region and a distribution rather than one figure. Series on every ASHE release, with the revision carried.
